How it Works

In order to begin, we need your writing! We are looking for stories from ordinary people like you! If your story is selected, it will become part of the of book.

 

We are accepting 5000 to 75000 word autobiographical (non-fiction) stories about one day in the life of you, an ordinary person. The story may be about any type of day: happy, sad, tragic, or uneventful. The only requirements are it must be interesting, and it must be something others enjoy hearing about.

 

Submissions must be made by 31st October 2017.

 

Once submitted, a synopsis of your entry will be published on our website. Our expert panel will vote for their 100 favorite stories. The public will then select which will be included within our final book, which we hope to be published around December 2018.

 

What We Are Doing

The final culmination of this project will be a book, entitled A British Story. Consisting of 20 short stories that each tells the story of an ordinary person.

The Voting Process

Not a writer, but want to get involved?

We seek talented people like you to help in the “A British Story” film project.

We need devoted volunteers for this project to succeed. If you work for a company, charity, organisation or are an individual, they/you will be included in the book credits when over 75 hours of your time is donated. If you think you can help us out, please sign up and we will contact you as soon as possible.
We need a pool of talented volunteers for this fundraising project who will be able to work from their own location. When you sign up for the volunteer category, please indicate what special talent you have. Your assistance is invaluable in our efforts to support our project.
